Healthy Slow Cooker Cran-Apple Applesauce

After making some delicious Homemade Applesauce, I wanted to try making an applesauce with a slight twist. I added dried cranberries (Craisins) and added a splash of cranberry juice. To make it healthy, I used Diet Cranberry juice (only 5 calories per 8-oz serving), and I also added some cinnamon- nothing too overpowering but wanted a slight hint of cinnamon taste. I loved tasting the dried cranberry sweetness with my apples!

Ingredients:
7 medium apples- a mixture of Jonagolds, Honeycrisp, and Red Delicious
Juice of 1 lemon
6-oz (1/2 bag) of Craisins
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup Diet Cranberry juice

Directions:
1. Coarsely chop the apples, and place into the stoneware.
2. Add lemon juice, Craisins, cinnamon, and cranberry juice.
3. Toss well to combine.
4. Cook on Low 6-7 hours or High 3-4 hours.
5. Mash apples with potato masher.
