How to... bake a sweet potato

I love baking potatoes because they are just so easy! Since I'm normally cooking something in the oven, usually I just throw it in there simultaneously. Nothing like 2 birds with 1 stone, right?

We usually have sweet potatoes in our home, and here is a foolproof way of baking potatoes in your oven. It takes some time but very little effort.

Directions:

  1. Wash the outsides of your potatoes.
  2. Prick the potatoes all over (I use a fork).
  3. Wrap the potatoes tightly in foil. (This will help the oozing of the natural sugar from the potatoes to stay within the foil)
  4. Place it in the oven at 400 degrees for 45-60 minutes. 
We love serving it with a pat of butter, dash of cinnamon, and a sprinkling of brown sugar.

Note: If you are baking these to go with meatloaf, I just use the meatloaf's temperature and cook it for the length of time the meatloaf cooks.
